Global Longboard Championship

In its twelfth year, ‘SO…’ proudly presents the World Championship Longboard Dance & Freestyle, promising an unforgettable spectacle. Mark your calendars for March 30 and 31 as Eindhoven transforms into the epicenter of this distinctive two-day event! This gathering unites the planet’s most skilled longboarders, celebrating athleticism, creativity, and a thriving subculture. A sport that has witnessed a tremendous surge in popularity in recent times.

Within the realm of longboard dance and freestyle, the essence lies in fluid motions, style, speed, creative expression, and daring manoeuvres. Longboarding transcends being merely a sport; it embodies a community of impassioned individuals sharing their love for this exhilarating activity. Whether you’re a seasoned skateboarder or a newcomer to the world of longboarding, this event offers a unique chance to immerse yourself in this captivating lifestyle.

Prepare to be captivated by the prowess and ingenuity of participants at the World Championship Longboard Dance & Freestyle. Gravity-defying stunts, mesmerising spins, and seamless dance routines – longboarders are set to enchant with their artistic finesse on the boards.

The thrill extends beyond the competitions; the event’s atmosphere is equally invigorating. Various zones invite you to track the competition, explore pop-up shops, and, notably, partake in complimentary longboard lessons. Ideal for a family outing, these lessons provide newcomers with an opportunity to grasp the basics and take their initial strides into the world of longboarding. An integral part of these lessons is the exchange of tricks among enthusiasts, fostering a sense of involvement and excitement for all.

Gear up for a weekend brimming with adventure and exhilaration! Witness not only the world’s premier longboarders in action but also explore the prospect of discovering a new passion or hobby. The longboarding community welcomes all, making this event particularly suitable for those stepping into the world of longboarding for the first time. It’s a perfect chance to explore this thrilling activity and revel in the joy it brings.

The competitions span diverse categories, encompassing the ‘groms’ competition for budding longboarders shaping the future, alongside the Dance and Freestyle contests for professionals. Additionally, a competition is open to non-sponsored longboarders, where winners garner attention from longboard brands and can transition into professional ranks the following year. The Hippy jump competition (a contemporary variant of high jump involving jumping off and landing back on the board) invariably adds an element of suspense!

The ‘Best Trick’ and ‘G-Turn’ contests promise breathtaking moments. Will a spectacular trick be executed during the crucial ‘moment supreme’?

This event is accessible to everyone – whether you’re a professional, a casual attendee, a curious parent with children, a practitioner of other board sports, or simply someone eager to give it a try, you’ll find a welcoming atmosphere. The ambiance is laid-back and convivial. Consider planning a day or weekend at ‘SO…’ – the experience will undoubtedly be worthwhile.

Access to the World Longboard Dance & Freestyle Championship is almost free; a mere purchase of two beverages grants entry to this unforgettable event.
